The Advanced Occlusion II is designed to provide students with a clinical orientation to the principles learned in the Gnathology and Complete Dentures courses.  This course will provide a historical perspective of the concepts of occlusion and will enable students to enhance their technical skills. The student will learn the skills needed to analyze the dental occlusion of patients and to plan successful occlusal therapy including restorative procedures and fixed prosthodontic treatment. The course will concentrate on developing technical skills and learning assessment criteria related to mounted study casts, occlusal examination and analysis, selective occlusal adjustment, diagnostic pre-waxing and planning, and the fabrication of a muscle relaxation occlusal splint
